Edenderry Cutural & Historical Society of Portadown, County Armagh,
Northern Ireland was formed in September 2004. The first project decided by the society
was to research and record the history of the local Wade factory in the Edenderry area
of Portadown.
The factory was closed in the early 1990s and it was decided by the society who are made up of former
Wade employees and Irish Wade enthusiasts that it was historically important to record the products
produced at the factory together with stories from the employees who worked at the
factory in Watson Street, Edenderry, Portadown.
The Edenderry Cultural and Historical Society have received major funding for the Wade Ireland project from the Lottery Heritage Fund and this website enhancement is
part of the funding.
