I am a new collector of wade porcelain. A few months ago i stumbled upon a wade piece on ebay. I fell in love with the varied hues of blues greens and browns on the different pieces. If anyone is interested in selling any of there pieces or know of any wade sellers, antique dealers etc. in the united states please let me know. Thanks Stephanie

I have been collecting Wade of all kinds for 20+years. Animal figurines, nursery rhymes, Whimseys, but my favorite is Irish Porcelain. It is still possible to find a nice piece here and there, but now I'm afraid that I might be getting some fakes due to the American economy. Believe it or not, I got some really interesting pieces in Branson, MO while visiting there. I'm going to buy your book because the last price guide I have is from 1995 (World of Wade 2). I've spent the last few weeks making a spreadsheet of my items (over 100) with their prices, but would like to get it updated to more current prices.

I have a very interesting story. I live in Ontario now and have for the past 10 years. Prior to that I used to live in Newfoundland. On November 9th, 2008 my grandfather passed away at the age of 78. My parents went to Ramea, Newfoundland went to visit him and pay their respects. While at home my dad picked up a, what I call a candy dish, and told an interesting story of where the candy dish came from.
It was anywhere from 42 - 45 years ago my grandfather was walking along a shore in Ramea, Newfoundland when he picked up a corked bottle with an address in it. He couldn't get the cork out so he put the bottle in his pocket and kept walking. 100 yards from that he came across another bottle with the exact same note and a cork. He took the bottles home and opened them up and wrote to the adress that was on both the notes in the bottles. It was addressed to somewhere in Ireland. Not sure the address. It was sometime later he went to the Post Office and in the mail box was this candy dish from Ireland. So 42 -45 years later your product is still in our family and will remain that way for many years to come. On the candy dish was .. Made In Ireland. Wade Co Armagh... The verse on the candy dish went as such "Soon man will appear to have learned all. Even harnessed machines to do all his work. What then is he going to do? Perhaps relearn to enjoy the simple things. The blue of the sky , the beauty of green grass, the song of birds, tranquility, and bread and cheese with a bottle of guinness." I love that verse so that is why I am searching this web site tonight. Hope you are still in business.

I bought my first wade goblets as a poor university student in 1970 and have loved the pottery ever since. It gives me great pleasure every time I look at it,
Linda
